Pat Hardy MA, ACFRE
President of The Tunnelwood Group
Pat Hardy has practiced fundraising since 1982 and started her company, Hardy Schouten Hardy & Associates, in 1992. Recently, she transformed her company into The Tunnelwood Group, with a new focus on providing capacity-building services. Pat has experience with annual, capital and endowment campaigns; board development; major gift solicitation; fundraising analysis and evaluation; and campaign planning.
Pat is an exceptional facilitator and trainer experienced in several techniques including appreciative inquiry. She teaches fundraising courses and workshops for boards, fundraisers and executive directors; and has been certified as a Master Teacher through the Indiana School of Fundraising.
Pat was the first Canadian to achieve professional certification as an Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE), and is one of only a handful of Canadians holding a Masters in Philanthropy and Development.
A recognized leader in the profession, Pat was honoured by the Association of Fundraising Professionals by the establishment of the Patricia Hardy Scholarship for Advancement.
Pat speaks regularly at international conferences and has consulted with and trained fundraisers around the world.
Pat is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and the Association for Research in the Non-Profit and Voluntary Sector.

Development Manager
Prior to coming to The Tunnelwood Group, Tania spent two years administering a 2 million dollar Capital Campaign for non-profit group Continuity Care. During her time with Continuity Care Tania earned first hand experience in working with and motivating volunteer Boards towards their fundraising goals. With a talent for building systems and databases, Tania’s strong organizational skills are an asset to the Tunnelwood Group.
Tania has traveled in Japan and South East Asia and is also a member of a local fire dance performance group.

Senior Consultant, Client Services & Marketing
Tim Schouten is a founding director of The Tunnelwood Group. Tim and Pat Hardy have been married for eighteen years. He also brings the experience of ten years of fund raising work and grant writing with the boards of several arts organizations into the mix at Tunnelwood Group. He has served as a board member and fund raising committee chair for Floating Gallery (now Platform) and Plug In ICA in Winnipeg. He built and maintains the Tunnelwood Group web site, as well as several other web sites for Arts groups and Not-for-Profits under the umbrella of Tunnelwood Studios, an affiliated brand.
